How to cash out your homestay referral commission in Malaysia: from the Withdraw button to your bank account, step by step

When a referral commission becomes withdrawable, the RM50 rule, what happens after you press Withdraw, and the five things that hold a payout up. Based on how our system actually works.

To cash out your Antlerzone referral commission, wait until the stays your friends booked reach check-in day, make sure your confirmed total is at least RM50 and your bank details are filled in, then press Withdraw on the Refer & earn page. We review the request, pay it by bank transfer, and the page shows you each step.

That is the short version. The longer version matters because most people who say "I never got my referral money" tripped on one of five small rules, none of which are hidden but none of which are obvious either. This article walks through the whole path in the order it happens, using how our system actually behaves, including the parts that are slow or manual.

If you have not yet seen how the commission is calculated, start with how much a referral can earn. This article starts where that one ends: you have friends who booked, and you want the money.

When does a referral commission become withdrawable?

Not when your friend pays. Not when they book. On the day they check in, provided the booking is a real stay.

Your Refer & earn page shows every booking you brought in with one of three states:

State on your pageWhat it meansCounts toward the RM50?
WaitingThe booking exists but check-in day has not arrived yetNo
ConfirmedCheck-in day has arrived and the booking is a real stay (confirmed, checked in or checked out)Yes
CancelledThe guest cancelled, did not show up, never finished paying, or the booking no longer existsNo, and the commission shows as RM0

Two details are worth knowing. First, the state is read live from the booking each time you open the page, so if a booking is cancelled after you saw it as waiting, it drops to RM0 on its own. Second, the amount itself is frozen when your friend books: 5% of the room rate. If the room rate is edited afterwards, the commission amount does not change.

The commission is calculated on the room rate only. It is not paid on the refundable deposit, and it is separate from the RM20 your friend gets off their first booking when they enter your code.

What do I need before the Withdraw button works?

Three things, all of which you can check yourself.

  1. At least RM50 of confirmed commission that has not been withdrawn yet. If you have RM45 confirmed, pressing Withdraw is refused. The page shows how much is available against the RM50 minimum.
  2. Bank name, account number and account holder name filled in on your account. All three are needed, because they go straight into the bank transfer file. The page never shows your full account number back to you, only the last four digits.
  3. No other withdrawal still open. You can have only one request in progress at a time. Open means "requested" or "approved". Once it is paid or rejected, you can request again.

Here is what RM50 looks like with example numbers. These are illustrations, not a forecast.

FriendRoom rate paid (example)Your 5%
Friend A, weekend stayRM580RM29.00
Friend B, one nightRM420RM21.00
Friend C, one nightRM300RM15.00
Total once all three have checked inRM65.00

Friend A alone gives you RM29, which is not enough. A and B together are exactly RM50, which is enough. If friend C is still waiting for check-in day, the page counts only what is confirmed.

What actually happens when I press Withdraw?

Pressing Withdraw does three things at the same moment.

  • It takes everything that is confirmed and not yet withdrawn and puts it into one request. You cannot choose to withdraw only some bookings.
  • It stamps each of those commissions with the request, so the same commission can never be paid twice, even if you press the button twice or two devices press it at the same instant.
  • It saves the bank details you had at that moment with the request.

That last point has a practical consequence: if you notice a typo in your account number after pressing Withdraw, the request already carries the old one. Ask us to reject it so you can fix your details and request again, rather than waiting for a transfer that will fail.

From then on, a commission that checks in later does not join the request that is already open. It waits for your next one. So if you press Withdraw the day before another friend checks in, that friend's commission is the start of your next balance, not an addition to this payout.

What are the four statuses, and who does what?

Each request on your page has a status.

StatusWhat it meansWho moves it forward
RequestedYou pressed Withdraw. Waiting for reviewOur admin
ApprovedReviewed and accepted. Waiting to be paidOur admin
PaidThe bank transfer has been made. The page shows the payment dateOur admin
RejectedNot accepted. A written reason is attached, and the commissions return to your available balanceOur admin

The review is done by a person, not automatically. When a request is approved, the payment is made by bank transfer through the same Public Bank bulk-transfer file system we use to pay owners. After the money goes out, our admin marks the request as paid with the payment date, and our own books record one entry for the payout under referral fees.

A rejection can only be made with a reason written in, and when it is made, every commission in that request is released back to you. Nothing is lost. You see the reason on the page and can fix whatever it was and press Withdraw again.

How long does it take?

We cannot give you a number of days, and we would rather say so than invent one. The system has no automatic payout date. Two steps are done by hand, the review and the payment, and they happen when our admin processes them, and payments can go out together with other transfers in one bulk file. A request pressed on a Sunday night is not going to be reviewed on Sunday night.

What we can tell you is what is visible: your request sits on the page as Requested until someone acts on it, then Approved, then Paid with a date. If it has been Requested for longer than you are comfortable with, message us. A silent wait is not a status you have to accept.

There is also one more honest delay. A payout is recorded in our accounting software when it is marked paid, and if that step fails, the request stays at Approved until it is fixed rather than being shown as paid. So an Approved request that sits for a while is not lost. It is waiting on us.

What are the five things that hold a payout up?

From the rules above, these are the real reasons a payout is late or does not happen.

  1. Check-in day has not arrived. A friend who booked and paid is still "Waiting". Nothing is withdrawable yet.
  2. Under RM50. Wait for another stay or two. A small balance simply waits.
  3. Bank details incomplete or wrong. The most avoidable one. Use the name exactly as it appears on the bank account.
  4. Another request is still open. One at a time. Check whether last month's request is still Approved and not yet Paid.
  5. A cancelled or no-show booking. It earns RM0, so a balance you counted on may be smaller than you expected. Look at the Cancelled rows.

Is it worth the trouble for small amounts?

Honestly, for one small referral it is a modest return. At 5%, a RM580 weekend stay pays RM29, and you need RM50 before you can withdraw at all. If your circle visits Johor Bahru a few times a year, this is pocket money that arrives in bursts, not income.

It becomes more useful when you organise groups, because several units book under one code in one weekend and clear RM50 in a single trip. We wrote that up in organising a group trip. And the way you send the link affects how many friends actually book, which we cover in how to share a referral link on WhatsApp.

A short checklist before you press Withdraw

  • Open Refer & earn and read the Confirmed total. Is it RM50 or more?
  • Check that bank name, account number and holder name are filled in and match your bank.
  • Look for an older request still showing Requested or Approved.
  • Press Withdraw once, then watch the status. Do not press it repeatedly.
  • After Paid appears, look at your bank statement for the payment date shown on the page.
